Welcome to America!- Detroit Lakes, MN

Beautiful town with beautiful lakes, I never, ever would have known about this if it wasn’t for a big music festival called 10,000 Lakes that was located here. I drove from Dallas, TX, to there, a drive that took somewhere around 22 hours.  Detroit Lakes is located about 45 minutes to an hour east of Fargo, ND. The grounds where the festival took place were in woods and between lakes. The temperature in the middle of the summer was quite comfortable and even dipped pretty cool at night.  I have heard they have other small community/regional festivals there and I would suggest that if someone lives near there, to take a trip there. It seems like a great place.  I did not have a Jet Ski or a boat or a sailboat, but I am sure the sheer beauty of the lakes and surrounding areas make it a must see destination. In fact, it is one of Minnesota’s top tourist locations.
